ELECTRIC SERVICES PHONE SCAM
Southwest Texas Electric Cooperative has been notified by the Schleicher County Sheriffs' office that there is a phone scam involving someone acting as a SWTEC employee. The scammer is calling claiming that the SWTEC member's electric bill is past due and will be disconnected if they don't pay ASAP. The scammer is also saying that the only way they can take payment is by the customer buying and loading the amount due into a gift credit card.
Please be aware and know that SWTEC takes all types of payments and will NEVER require payment be made with a gift credit card
