In Case of Outage

It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it helps to know the correct procedure for reporting an electrical outage.

If your service is interrupted, the first thing to do is check your fuses or breakers to make sure the problem is not your own.

Next, check to see if your neighbors have service. This gives the dispatcher some idea of the extent of the outage.

In reporting an outage, give the dispatcher taking the call the name that the service is in (name which appears on the bill) and the meter number (this enables us to locate you more quickly).

During office hours of 8:00 - 5:00 Monday through Thursday and 8:00 - 4:00 on Friday, phone 325-853-2544 or 1-800-643-3980. After hours and weekends call 325-853-2546 or 1-800-643-3980.

If you have any information about the cause of the outage (tree or limb on the line, broken pole, etc.) please tell the dispatcher. This will also speed the restoration of your service.
